The countdown has already begun for the last few days left, though school is becoming a drag and many students are not wanting to do anything-wishing it to be a warm active summer already.

As students, we must make sure we stay motivated or shift to maximum overdrive because the clock is ticking to either save our grades or keep them the best that they can be.

It also important that we stay positive and realize that it is almost over, and we can push through it!

Here are some tips or ways to make sure you are on top of what you need to do.

  1. Make a plan
    1. If you make an effort to plan your agendas out, you will have thought of the entire process from beginning to the end. If you make a plan or “to do” list, you are more likely to want to accomplish it. So, make a plan on how you are going to study for finals.
  2. Have the attitude of expectancy
    1. You are going to get want you expect. So, expect something good will happened, and it just might–or at least you will feel better for the day. Expect that you will get your assignments in and will pass your tests, this way you will have a more positive outlook.
  3. Remember your victories
    1. You have come this far. So, why not reflect on how you got here? It is important to look back on your achievements and realize you did those things; this could motivate you in the sense of wanting to get over the remaining obstacle even more to reach a higher level of success.
  4. Actually take action
    1. Get going on what you need to get done. The sense of urgency can help you develop some type of motivation to keep you going. In this way, you are able to get the assignment done and have more time to yourself.
  5. Don’t worry about things way beyond your control
    1. Understand that you will not have everything under control at all times. But, you must not overwhelm yourself with aspects you cannot grasp. Make certain that you act upon things you do have control of and change them in better ways.
  6. Take away distractions
    1. This could hinder the flow or groove you hold when you are motivated, which can lead to prolonging your needs. When doing assignments, try to eliminate as many distractions as you can, in this way you can solely focus on one thing at a time.
  7. Either get with the right people or distance yourself
    1. Be around positive people as much as you can and people that have goals. This is more likely to drive you to complete your goal because everyone around you wants to do the same things. When you are around negative people, it can make you concentrate on the wrong things. A better solution to ensure that you are not wound up in all that negativity is to make it clear to your friends that you need to take time for yourself.
  8. Celebrate every accomplishment
    1. Praise yourself for every obstacle and challenge you go through. It can be big or small as long as you are treating yourself and not brushing it off; it is a healthy way to stay in that ambitious mindset.
  9. Visualize yourself as the best
    1. Why not be the best you can be? Imagine that you are the best at whatever you decide to do or imagine that you will try your best. You can also give yourself uplifting self-talks to tell yourself that you can do whatever you strive to achieve.
  10. Self-care
    1. You absolutely must take care of yourself, because without you being your best, what is there to encourage you to get stuff done? Find out ways to chill out or take a break. This can help you clear your mind and later narrow down your goals. You come first over anything.
